Scotty Inman Signs Recording Agreement With Daywind Records

Nashville, TN (August 17, 2023) – Daywind Records has announced the addition of 4-time BMI awarded singer/songwriter Scotty Inman to its stellar lineup of artists.

Having spent more than two decades as part of the fan-favorite quartet, Triumphant, Scotty Inman recently announced his intentions to move into a solo career; a decision that will allow him the opportunity to be even more present in the lives of his young family and growing church home. It was a decision made with a great deal of prayer and counsel and with the faith that God would open doors as he walked in obedience to His calling.

“With any huge life change such as this, it gives you a moment to step back and evaluate how you want to continue forward, and who is best suited to partner with you along the way,” shares Scotty Inman. “When I looked at my options for a record label partner, Daywind was a front-runner from the beginning. After meeting with their team and sharing my heart on where I feel the Lord is leading me as I step into this new venture full-time, they were immediately supportive of my vision. I’m excited about what we can achieve together!”

“We are so excited to be walking alongside Scotty Inman on this part of the journey of his illustrious career and we are absolutely thrilled to welcome him into our Daywind Family of artists,” shares Daywind A&R Director Dusty Wells. “Scotty is no stranger to Daywind, so when our team sat down and listened to his heart and music, we all walked away and said to one another, ‘we want to walk alongside of him and get his music out there.’ I love how Scotty has such a pure heart of wanting his music, his life, his story, his faith, his love for family, his friendships along the way, to all point to his relationship with Jesus. I’ve known Scotty for 20 plus years, and I am a fan and I admire him for all he has contributed to the ministry and music of Triumphant.  Now, it’s Scotty’s time to step out in this new venture alongside of our team here at Daywind and continue on with what God is doing in his life with his music.”

Scotty’s debut solo project, Anywhere Jesus Is, released in 2022 with an enthusiastic reception from long-time fans and new listeners alike. The album, produced by Josh Swift (The Isaacs, Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver), blends Scotty’s Southern Gospel roots with a Country flair, and features strong themes of faith, family, and life. The latest radio release, ‘Anywhere Jesus Is,’ has soared up the Southern Gospel radio charts and currently sits in the Top 10.

In addition to the full album, listeners have enjoyed multiple single releases from Scotty Inman, including a nod to growing up in church in the South, entitled ‘Southern Gospel,’ as well as ‘Hallelujah, You Are Good,’ a collaboration with GRAMMY® nominated artist, Joseph Habedank.

The new partnership with Daywind Records has Scotty Inman excited about producing new music very soon. “I’m currently writing new music for a follow up project, and I’m eager to begin working alongside the knowledgeable and experienced team at Daywind to make this project the best yet!”

Gold City Announces New Lead Vocalist

In an exclusive interview with Singing News Radio that aired Tuesday morning, it was announced by Danny Riley that Josh Feemster is Gold City’s new lead vocalist. Josh, who has been on a fill-in assignment with the group for the past few weeks, has quickly become a favorite with audiences everywhere, prompting many to hope he would be the permanent lead.

Danny Riley of Gold City says, “We could not be happier to welcome Josh to the Gold City family. I knew he was a great singer, but after his first night filling in with us a few week ago, I immediately realized just how outstanding his talent is. Without any practice, he walked out, commanded the stage and blew everyone away, myself included. He is one of the best lead voices I’ve ever sang with, and he is an even finer person. He loves the Lord, is an extremely talented vocalist and we are excited to have him on the Gold City bus.”

Many will remember Josh for his work with Legacy Five and Mercy’s Mark. His most recent position has been singing along side his brother, Tim Feemster, with group Quartet Classic. He hopes to share the stage with Quartet Classic on occasion when the Gold City schedule allows. Josh lives in Sardis City, AL with his wife, Brandy, and their young son, Jack. The Feemsters also have an older son, Joshua, who is married to Sammy, and they are the parents of John Avery.

Josh says, “Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought I would consider singing on a professional level again. When Danny asked me to help him out a for a month or so, it was just that—helping out until the right man was found for the job. During this past month, the Lord made it very evident to Brandy and myself that His plans are higher than ours, and the time is right for me to do this. I’ve never been more excited about a singing opportunity. The team that is now assembled with Gold City is special and so reminiscent of the Gold City I grew up listening to. Standing on stage with these guys takes me back to what I grew up loving. I can hardly wait to see what all He has in store.”

Danny adds, “I think I can speak for the other men in Gold City in saying we continue to be laser focused on our mission of sharing Jesus through our music, encouraging the saints and reaching the lost. Josh shares our passion and vision, and that is the most important reason we extended this opportunity to him. We are glad he accepted!”

Remembering Anita Pitts

Remembering Anita Pitts
On August 4, 2023, our hearts were shattered as we unexpectedly said goodbye to a beloved soul, Anita Ballard Pitts. She passed away peacefully in her sleep, leaving behind a void that can never be filled. Though her departure from this world was sudden, her impact on the lives she touched will forever be remembered with fondness and gratitude.
Anita was the cherished wife of Paul Pitts, and their love story was one of unwavering devotion and companionship.
As a mother, Anita poured her heart and soul into nurturing her three children: Christopher W. Pitts, Jeffrey M. Pitts, and Robyn Pitts Smith. She was a pillar of strength and a constant source of love and support as they navigated life’s challenges.
Anita’s love extended to her six grandchildren: David Paul Pitts, William Simmons, Elijah Smith, Selah Smith, Grace Lee, and Theodore Pitts. Her pride in their accomplishments knew no bounds, and she relished every moment spent with them, creating treasured memories that will forever be held close.
In the presence of her two great-grandchildren, Willow Pitts and Eve Lee, Anita found joy in the innocence and wonder of youth. She delighted in their laughter and playful spirits, finding happiness in their every embrace.
Born in Clanton, Alabama, Anita’s journey led her to make her home in Duncan, South Carolina. She lived a life dedicated to the Lord and her family. As a compassionate Registered Nurse, she cared for others with a selflessness that left a lasting impact on those she tended to. Her nurturing spirit also found expression as a Minister of Music, using her melodious voice and musical talents to lead others in worship and praise. Her gift for songwriting and musicianship spread the joy of gospel music far and wide, touching the hearts of countless individuals across the globe.
Anita’s involvement in the Global Promotions of gospel music allowed her to touch the lives of people from around the world.
A devoted member of Praise Cathedral Church in Greer, South Carolina, Anita’s faith was the cornerstone of her life. She found solace and strength in her relationship with God, and her commitment to her faith was evident in all aspects of her life.
Anita was blessed with a loving family that provided her with unwavering support and guidance. Her parents, Rev. David A. Ballard and Ida Ballard Burnette along with her parents in love Rev. Buell A. Pitts and Paula W. Pitts and her siblings Sheila Diane Ballard and Joseph Duane Ballard, shared a bond that transcended time and distance.
In this time of grief and loss, let us find comfort in the beautiful memories we hold dear and the knowledge that Anita’s spirit lives on in the hearts of all those she loved. A memorial service to celebrate her life and honor her memory will be held at Praise Cathedral Church of God on August 15, 2023. A receiving of friends and family will begin at 5:00pm and a Celebration of Life will be at 6:00pm. Everyone is welcome to come celebrate Anita’s life with our family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Selah Grey Foundation (www.SelahGrey.com) in Anita’s memory. This foundation is founded on her granddaughter, Selah Smith, and continues Anita’s legacy of compassion and service to others.
As we grieve together, let us remember the words: “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit” (Psalm 34:18). May we find strength and solace in knowing that Anita now rests in eternal peace, forever embraced in the loving arms of her Heavenly Father.

The rich, musical heritage of The Guardians dates back to the late 1980s; however, over the past decade, under the direction of founding member, Dean Hickman, The Guardians have enjoyed much success, including multiple Dove Award nominations from the Gospel Music Association, as well as Fan Award nominations from subscribers of The Singing News Magazine and several #1 hit singles. “Our agency has known group owner and manager Dean Hickman for several years,” Ed Harper, President of The Harper Agency shares. “He continues to be actively involved in many aspects of our industry. Jeff and I have known John, Pat and Paul personally for many years. Each were previously vocalists with other artists our agency represents. They, along with their baritone singer Scott Mullins, present great four-part harmony that gospel fans love and appreciate.”

Just as the Harper Agency is delighted to have the opportunity to represent The Guardians, The Guardians are honored and thrilled to be represented by the Harper Agency. “I’ve had the privilege of having a relationship with the Harper Agency for over 30 years,” John Darin Rowsey states. “ I’ve seen their work both from the side of the concert promoter, as my wife and I promoted concerts for a number of years, and from the artist side when I traveled with Karen Peck and New River.  It was clear to me they truly cared about both and that kind of integrity always impressed me. I look forward to working with them, and The Guardians are very excited to be represented by Ed and Jeff Harper and their wonderful staff.”
